Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 22, 2026

At BMI Money Manager, we take your privacy extremely seriously. Unlike traditional personal finance applications, we believe that your financial data is personal and should remain entirely under your control.

1. Data Storage (On-Device Only)

BMI Money Manager is a **local-first web application**. We do not run databases, and we do not transmit your transaction ledger, income entries, expense categories, or balance summaries to any remote servers.

All transaction records, defaults, and app preferences are stored exclusively on your browser's local memory via **LocalStorage**. Your data never leaves your computer or phone.

2. Information Collection

We do not require user account registration, email sign-ups, password logins, or profile creation.

  • Personal Information: We collect zero personal identifiers (names, emails, addresses).
  • Financial Information: We do not link with your bank account, credit card, or payment provider.
  • Cookies & Tracking: We do not use third-party analytics cookies, advertising beacons, or trackers.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

Since your financial transactions are stored locally, you have complete control over their lifetime. You can wipe all transaction entries instantly at any time from the Settings page, or by clearing your browser cache/cookies.

4. Third-Party Web Services

The application runs independently from third-party networks. If you use the currency converter feature, rates are calculated using cached static data or on-device conversion metrics, without submitting user amounts to external APIs.

5. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect future cloud-synchronization options (Version 2). Any future updates will remain opt-in, and local storage mode will always remain a secure, private choice for our users.
